Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel, Gumbet
The Asarlik Hotel is a 200 room hotel and is spacious, well furnished in a simple but modern style. Its location give holidaymakers a good view of Gumbet bay.
The hotel overlooks the sand and shingle beach and is 400 yards from the shops, cafes and restaurants in the resort centre.
The 3 mile trip to Bodrum and its castle, on a dolmus, is a great way to see some Turkish history and culture.

We returned to the Asarlik hotel in July 2006 our 1st visit was back in 99, we were amazed as the hotel was still as lovely. The staff constantly clean all day long everything is spotless. Rooms are spotless and cleaned everyday you have your own air con unit which is brill especially in July.
We went B&B and it was good nothing special cereals, bread ham etc. We have heard that they are building a new wing onto the hotel (so just check with your tour operator before you go. This hotel also have their own Gulet boat and for £10 they take you out to a drop off point in a private car you spend all day on the boat going round different bays etc and lunch and afternoon tea and cake is also included we did this trip twice as we enjoyed it so much.
The Asarlik is situated just out of the main resort centre but it only takes just over 5 mins to be in the hub of everything. There is a shop next to the hotel that sells newspapers etc but be warned if the security staff find you with food they will confiscate it. The hotel is set in blocks so you don't walk through a reception area it's very well set out but if you find walking and climbing stairs difficult this hotel might not be suitable.
We have noticed the change in Gumbet itself it is starting to be more geared up to youngsters now I'm only 28 myself but i do like the quietness of where the Asarlik is situated. We had a brill holiday and we would defiantly go back to this hotel as you can't fault it. We spent a lot of time in the hotel next door called Otel Melek it's Turkish owned and they had really comfy armchairs right on the waters edge so once I'd done my shopping and filled my face we used to go back there for a few beers on a few occasions my hubby bought a fishing line and fished over the wall and this was in the early hours (men). So I would definitely recommend this hotel for all ages really you certainly don't get 18-30's at this hotel. Sorry to have babbled on for so long but I just wanted to get as much in as possible.
So have a good holiday.
