We have been to Samos many times and this was our first visit to the Hotel Cohyli in Ireon it is about 50 metres from the main square with surrounding restaurants and bars. Very clean accommodation, with an amazing restaurant on your doorstep!!
The resort is quiet and if you want a relaxing and non-stressed holiday, this is the place to be. There are enough restaurants and bars for a different choice most nights, if you like to flit about. They are all good and one or two stick out as better but I won't name them here, because next time I go you might be there and take the last table! If you are the sort to venture out, Pythogoria is just down the road and is the best busiest resort on the island. You can get there by Bus or Taxi, or you can hire bikes and cars in Ireon. Going around the island is easy in a car or on a scooter, we've done both, it's fairly busy in August/September but out of season there is very little traffic to bother you. Next round the island after Pythogoria is Samos, which is the capital and harbour. Ferries come in here and you can island hop from there for the day if you wish. It has a lot of shops and cafes but it's not really a touristy type place, well not to me, a lot of the cafes are full of Greek teenagers on certain days but it's a great place to shop! From there on, there are lots of little bays, beautiful bays where you can get something to eat and drink; some are almost deserted on certain days, which we love! If you are prepared to drive then this is a beautiful island with lots of surprises!
A lovely, unspoilt and quiet island that I would recommend to anyone who wants a well earned break. Visit Kokkari if you can, about 30 minutes from Samos, a beautiful place, with some great restaurants and bars. This is a brilliant place but Samos has been overlooked by a lot of the tour companies and if a few more of us Brits don't start going, the flights might start to dry up.
Which means it would cost me more to get there! So do yourself, and me, a favour and give it a go!

We had the most enjoyable holiday ever!
We would like to thank all the members of The Cohyli Hotel for adding to our holiday enjoyment and making everybody feel welcome and comfortable and adding fun too!. I can't praise the hotel service enough... Christina & her family couldn't do enough for us to make us feel welcome at their place...they are down to earth people great company with a great sense of humour too!
The Hotel was ideally situated for easy access to the beach and restaurants and super Markets etc, whilst a short stroll led into the main town passing souvenir shops and eating places etc. Hotel Cleaning Service;- Was excellent! Maids cleaned daily...changing towels and replacing toilet rolls...moping floors etc...Our room was spotlessly clean. DEFIANTLY GOING BACK! ...Sooner the better.
