We had a 2 week stay, me, my husband and 15yr daughter. Hotel was top class, staff could not do enough for you and they all had fixed smiles all day.
Our luggage was taken from us as soon as we arrived and taken to our room, we were on the 2nd floor it was clean and tidy and we loved the towel models that were made by the maids. Air con; and ceiling fan was a relief after a hard day sunbathing.
Just a couple of negatives was that we had gecko's in the room and they ran along walls of a night and made a sort of kissing noise, the staff did try to get rid of them for us, but they came back but after a few days we ignored them they are harmless. We had a mini bar in room which was re-stocked. The pools were ok but needed more parasols especially on the man made beach. On the main beach there wasn't any at all, this I think is not ideal when the sun is so strong and you really should have some shelter the other negative was the airport, on arrival we were escorted on bus to terminal but then unloaded and made to wait outside in the hot sun like a load of cattle waiting to be milked this I found out was because there was only one terminal working as the other one was damaged in the hurricane that happened in 2005.
They don't seem to hurry themselves to repair it, that's all the negativity.
Tip buy off! For your mozi repellent very good, the stuff that we took was not any good we were badly bitten on first day you can get this at the repellent at shop in hotel.
The animation staff were excellent, very hard working and dancing was first class.
5th avenue is a good place to shop for trinkets and my daughter loved the boutiques. The excursions all looked fantastic but unfortunately I can't comment on them as we didn't do any.
