Gorgulho Aparthotel, Funchal
Gorgulho Aparthotel is centrally located in the Lido area of the resort next to the Eden Mar Suite Apartments.
The aparthotel is rated as 3 star and has rather a unique appearance of dark concrete with Blue & white tiling around the balcony areas.

Hotel just off main road. Quite a good location.
Lots of food places in easy walking distance. Supermarkets, 1 down the road & 1 on the main street a little way along.
The main road is a little busy and with no double glazing it could be quite noisy. The hotel was kept clean and tidy.
The breakfast had a wide choice but was the same every day. In the shopping mall opposite was a sightseeing tour shop, they were offering tours without the meals, at a very reasonable prices.

Dated Hotel, looks daunting both inside and out, staff although were friendly, the hotel was sold with "air conditioning" however there are no rooms that are air conditioned, disappointed with operator which leaves me to leave these comments, room was cramped for our party of 3 the studio was bed and breakfast but with the studio the kitchenette came in handy for snacks and solo cooking, but with a 3rd bed in the room there was no room to actually eat.
Car parking was a must as Madeira is fairly condensed... 50 metres away is a row of eateries which I highly recommend, the Italian was always busy but found a space.
If the rooms were big enough to comfortable to accommodate 3 people and had air conditioning it would have been fine, however no 1 web site seems to describe the amenities correctly. It has NO Air Con.
Restaurant was breezy with little variety but perfect for a nibble before braving the steep slopes of Funchal.
