Portonovo Apartments, Puerto Del Carmen
Situated on a hillside in the Old Town, the Portonovo Apartments offer good views across to the harbour.
The apartments are a firm favourite, with many guests returning year after year to soak up the Lanzarote weather and the atmosphere of Puerto Del Carmen.
Facilities in the apartments include a kitchen, kettle, bath, toilet, telephone and balcony or terrace.

We stayed for a week at the Portonovo Apartments at Easter. The apartment was spacious and clean, the pool area was quiet with plenty of sunbeds. The pool has a pool bar serving drinks and food all day, the couple running the bar were very pleasant and helpful.
The apartment is located in a peaceful area in the Old Town, its a 2 minute walk into the centre of the Old Town and it's bars, restaurants and shops. The view from the balcony on a clear day is of the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura.
The new town is about 10 minutes walk away but the taxi's are cheap and convenient if you don't like walking too far. We will defiantly be visiting the Portonovo Apartment later in the year and recommend them to anyone who wants a stress free holiday.

This holiday was brilliant, even the odd shower and a cool night haven't put us off going back.
We are already looking at going back later in the year to the same apartment. The apartments are sited up a small incline and are just outside the old harbour where there are lots of lovely restaurants and a couple of bars overlooking the sea. This is a perfect spot if you want to be in a quieter position with great restaurants, but still able to walk into the nightlife/shops if you fancy a change. The food at all of the restaurants we have tried (and that's nearly all of them) is fantastic.
There is a really nice atmosphere at the harbour with locals playing boules and children playing ball in the square which you can watch from your chosen eatery. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, but we preferred the harbour as it had more charm/character. Portonovo Apartments are very clean indeed, spacious and well furnished. They are well situated with great views of the sea and Fuerteventura, all round I couldn't find anything to complain about within the complex and apartment.
Don't think you can get in these apartments through main tour operators as most are private now, we got ours at Portonovo Apartment co uk but there are some more letting apartments out. Well worth a visit as we have not had quality like this on any package holiday, and it did work out cheaper. So personally I would ignore comments on Portonovo Apartments that are before 2007, massive improvements now. As for the weather we did have a few cloudy days and a few showers but this was early March so it was early in season, roll on September for our next tour.

I went to Portonovo Apartments in Nov 07 through a private rental, normally people say yes it was great and I will go back again.
I found these apartments to be perfect for location and perfect for families, trouble free and well run, I did some home work on the apartments and complex and returned in Jan 08 for a week and bought an apartment there. I have had family package holidays from most major tour operators over the years and never had reason to complain, but I found quality here and had to have one. How many holiday reviews say that!, try it, you might do what I did and really enjoy it. I now will get 3 holidays a year there at least.
