"I Would Recommend This Resort"

We just returned from a weeks holiday at the Cypria Bay, I can't praise this hotel enough, the staff are helpful and friendly as are the entertainmemt team and resturant staff.

The food is wonderful, plenty of choice, with several themed nights throughout the week. Our room was lovely and air conditioned, pool was great especially the swim up bar. There were always enough sunbeds to go around.

The entertainment team work really hard, we had different entertainment each night, from acts, artists and karaoke nights all good fun. Service was excellent from start to finish, I would recommend this resort.

"Guarentee Getting In The Cypria Bay & Not The Maris"

Just arrived back from a fortnight at this resort, we travelled with Thomson and were aware of the fact that this resort is made up of 2 hotels, but other holidaymakers we met didn't and were disappointed. The rooms were very nice but on the small side.

Typical of All Inclusive, food is very repetative and tended to be warm rather than hot.

Overall we had a good holiday in a nice part of Paphos, ideal for the local bus service so no need to hire a car unless you wanted to explore the Island.

Thomson claim that this resort is 4*+ but I think it's lower to be honest. We would go back to Paphos if we could guarentee getting in the Cypria Bay and not the Cypria Maris.

"Entertainment Was A Let Down"

My partner and I travelled to Paphos in December 2005 and stayed for 7 nights. The Riu Cypria Bay hotel was great! Food was good every day, at all servings. Although the entertainment was a let down, the cleanliness of the hotel, service of staff and surroundings compensated. The hotel and the rooms are exactly the same as how they are illustrated in the brochures.

Had a partial sea view room, which was nice, views were lovely!

One and only complaint was that the room was so cold, (especially in the evening). When we complained to reception that only cold air came out of fan when turned on to heat, we were 1st told someone would have a look at the heating. 2nd time we were told by management that the heating was not turned on at this time of year, but we could have extra blankets. Still wasn't sufficient, and the 3rd time we were told that the heating system had to be first shut down for the air conditioning to be turned on, (we found out later from another guest that the heating was only on between certain hours of the day). This meant when we were in our room in the evenings sat under a couple of blankets each............. It really was that cold!!! What was worse was that when we reported this to the Thomson holiday rep, she suggested asking for more blankets, instead of informing us about the heating timer system, which would have meant heating for at least part of the day. Disappointing, and could have spoilt the holiday if we allowed it to!

Paphos weather was a let down - overcast everyday, but luckily myself and my partner hired a jeep and headed to Larnaka, Nicosia or Limmasol on most days, where the weather was much warmer!

Avoided the really expensive tours with Thomson, and went to most sites for a small fraction of the Thomson price! Love Cyprus! Love the People! Love the Hospitality! Next time we will make sure we go in the summer months, or check with hotel prior to leaving about heating arrangement.
