Emerald Apartments, Golden Beach

The Emerald Apartments complex is a family-run establishment, which offers well-maintained accommodation, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Apartments come equipped with a kitchenette, bathroom and balcony or terrace. The Emerald Apartments also offers a swimming pool, snack bar, TV lounge, reception and games room (with pool table and video games). For children, the complex includes a separate pool and playground.

"Situated A Long And Steep Hill"

Golden Beach is wonderful but cannot recommend the Emerald Apartments basically because of its location.

It is situated a long and steep hill and it's a real struggle to climb up especially during the heat of the day. To visit the mini market, restaurants or anywhere you had to encounter this obstacle.

There was no courtesy mini bus provided to alleviate the problem. The room was adequate and those on the higher floors have spectacular views. A reasonable swimming pool with a pool bar but our holiday was spoilt by the hill which influenced how often we could go and return.

The owner was friendly and must have got fed up with clients making comments about the hotel's position.

"You Don't Get Views Like This Without Ascending"

You don't get views like this without ascending! Yes, there's a hill, but even after a huge meal & too much to drink, in a heat wave, wearing heels (!) and with a 7 year old in tow it wasn't an issue. And no - we're not super fit, we just look after ourselves to a reasonable extent.

Leave the others at the bottom of the hill. Whilst you're up here, enjoy the conviviality, views, peace & above all Costas' unique warmth & hospitality. Almost all the people we were chatting to at the bar late into the night had been to the Emerald time & time again.

"Right Resort Wrong Location"

Golden Beach in Thassos is wonderful but we chose the wrong accommodation.

The Emerald Apartments are up a long and steep hill which was real killer especially in the heat of the day and this spoilt our holiday.

The rooms here are adequate and the swimming pool area and pool side bar are lovely. It is a shame as the owner is really friendly but unless you are super fit you will struggle and get fed up with the hill from hell.

Right resort wrong location.

"Horrendous Long And Steep Hill"

Our whole holiday here was governed by the horrendous long and steep hill which you had to negotiate every time you returned to the Emerald Apartments.

Regrettably this issue overrides some other very good point about our holiday. The Emerald Apartments themselves are OK but nothing special and certainly not worth the effort of the mountaineering exercise a few times a day!!
