The Pioneer Beach Hotel is the second from the end in a long row of holiday hotels along the main costal road in Paphos and is quite far off the beaten track.
The food is great and has a different theme every night. In the hotel there is no animation team. On the beach, there are piles of old withered seaweed, which is not removed. Otherwise, the stretch of beach from the hotel is very quiet.
The rooms are properly equipped and carpeted, everything here is clean. The hotel is just gorgeous! The Pioneer Beech is one of the best hotels in area, because it is one of the smallest.
The Pioneer has a small private beach on a peninsula and has the most beautiful gardens surrounding the hotel with a lawn, palm trees, shrubs and flowers. Ideal for couples.

When we arrived I noticed that we had been given a room with two single beds, although we had booked a double bed. We complained but the staff seemed uninterested and said that there was no other room. We complained to our travel agency and immediately they found a double room for us. Our room was large, comfortable.
The food was terrible and the coffee tasted chemically. Otherwise, the hotel is OK. It is right on the beach, the pool is nice, but you have to get up early if you want to get a sunbed.
At our departure, we had a problem with our bill, because they were trying to charge us for our meals, although we had paid for half board (I wish we had not done)!

We didn't actually stay at the Pioneer Beach Hotel however we did not use of its facilities and enjoyed an evening meal at this hotel, as guests of the Paphian Bay Hotel next door, we were entitled to make use of the facilities at the Pioneer Beach Hotel which is owned by the same group that owns the Paphian Bay Hotel next door. The hotels, plus two further down the down the road are owned and operated by the Constantinou Brothers.
We decided to have a meal at this hotel because the dining room in the Paphian Bay Hotel was full on Saturday evening at 20:00, and didn't really want wait any longer for a meal. The food and the Pioneer was excellent however the dining room has a high ceiling which gives it the feel of a school with hall. If you are on half board at the Paphian Bay Hotel you're entitled to have an evening meal on any day at the Pioneer Beach Hotel for a supplement of 2 Cyprus Pounds per person.
As said previously we didn't actually stay at the Pioneer Beach Hotel so we can't truly comment on any of the facilities that they provide, however it is worth noting that people under the age of sixteen cannot stay at this hotel. So if you fancy a quiet break without children then this hotel should really be on your list if you're considering holiday in Cyprus.
